The Executioner - The General of Uncertainty

The very first of System-M's Generals to appear in Div O story (As seen in 'Our first real fight'), The Executioner is the Mask of Fear for the System. After all, as repeated many times throughout history, humanity fears what they cannot comprehend, what they are uncertain of.
Unpredictable danger, the thrill and horror of being unprepared in the face of your doom, such are the tools of The Executioner. No one remembers her true name, not even Marinelle the Wicked, her lifelong comrade. As such, no one even knows why she joined System-M, though you perhaps may have heard of the story and the circumstances she was placed in.

Surely before reading this, you have read the tale of how the once strong and confident Defence Forces of a grand city were cowering at the feet of the System and its ever-expanding desires of capture. Many had deserted Commander Marinelle to struggle and ponder over their impending defeat on her own.

And that was something she could not tolerate.

Whatever kind of human being The Executioner was in her former life, there was only one thing she could do - she ran after every single traitor, every deserter, and demanded they return, all with a blade to their throats.

"I don't give a damn how powerful the enemy's magic is or how scared pissless you are, you all are going back and defending this city and the Commander with your LIFE! Unless you want to lose it now!"

Of course, as we all know, that never came to pass, with the Commander herself committing treason. At this point of time, no one can really decipher what kind of insane, crushing disappointment drove the blood-stained soldier to follow after her treasonous leader and surrender her soul to the enemy, but one thing that could easily be seen is that her anger had faded away. It seemed whatever trace of her old fiercely loyal self was lost forever.

Now...nobody can truly tell what she is. Most often to her enemies and anyone else 'below' her, her personality can shift in the blink of an eye. With her, a grin and a smooth voice (not much unlike that of Marinelle's) can instantly explode into maniacal laughter and accompanied by biting taunts, then the next second, flatten into a completely monotone and flat stoicness. To call it being bipolar would be incorrect, for there is a slight form of intention in every persona she puts up. But either way, there's no telling who you'll be facing down to your imminent fall, except for one name...

Her tasks, equally as ever-changing - whether she chooses to silently assasinate you, or unleash a swarm of her volatile subordinates against you, the only thing that stays the same is her intention to send you fleeing to whence you came from, cowering and overwhelmed by fear. Sometimes, she need not even take your life; depending on who you are, living would be counterproductive.

Even her signature weapon, which she uses to inflict such terror, remains not the same at times, though one could argue that's its only constant. Do you see that Catherine wheel on her back above, eerily resembling those of the old times of frequent execution? Do you not also see those cylindrical clasps on the wheel?

Yes, the wheel does not have only one form, because stretching your limbs till they snap is only one method of torture. The wheel can easily unfold itself into...really, whatever The Executioner wants it to be. Many have witnessed it becoming a halbred or a club, but others a single canon, or perhaps more...an indefinite structure, filled with indefinite types of ammunition, you'll never know which one you'll have to deal with.

Another thing that could be worth mentioning is that unlike her 'partner-in-crime', The Executioner indulges in the use of magic to pin her targets down. Many would expect her to frequently use petrifying attacks to freeze you and leave you in a state of helplessness...when in reality that's pretty cheap for anyone, much less a General, even of this accord. To what she actually uses...well...had you read the story arc she appeared in above, you would know she used a massive explosion offensive called Red Calamity. That is only one of the many aces she has. Think of anything in this world you are afraid of; Insects? Small and tight areas? The dark? One wonders if she has a spell for each and every phobia, but one can only wonder or discover on their own...

You may have noticed that The Executioner's profile is relatively short compared to that Marinelle the Wicked. Chances are, you probably understand why. The fact that this magical girl represents uncertainty and fear of the System is no concern to her Commander. After all, she just wants to control everything. But she knows almost as little as you are, sitting right here. And even now, theyBzzZZZZzzzzzRRrRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrZZzzzzbBbzzz...

"GYAHAHAHAHAHA! Foolish mortals, did you really think you could reach me that quickly?! YOU MUST BE FORGETTING YOU'RE A STEP AWAY FROM DEATH'S DOOR!"

"Hah, but you've done well up till now, I can give you that. You must have been most courageous to make it past all that to reach to me. But sadly..."

"...hm. You seem to be hesitating now. A disappointment...but my blade has already been sharpened."



Fun fact: The Executioner's portrait took the longest time for to draw...don't hold that against him though.
Fact fact 2: You might see me depicting her with a hat sometimes. Reason for this being that her initial design/concept was supposed to be alluring to THE SPANISH INQUISITION! and I still wanted to include that, even after her redesign...
