Status Updates and information on NaNoWriMo 2k15!

Ugh...oh man...life of a Singaporean student...it feels like I've had a hangover or something...

...huh, wha-- OH! Oh, hi there readers! Kigurou-Enkou here, and after a bit of silence prior to my announcement of NaNoWriMo, it's time to give you guys another update!

As my very first NaNoWriMo 2k15 announcement comic states, I am going to be facing the dreaded final-year examinations that is the 'O' Levels in about a week...and boy do I really need to buck up for those. I have, in fact, graduated today, which means except for going to school for the actual exams, I will be at home always studying and...studying!

Okay, not true, I will be coming on to check stuff and squeeze in a bunch of other works as much as I can in what little free time I have...which I should probably explain of more right now.

The NaNoWriMo novel between and I, as you might have guessed, will be top priority (more info later in this post!). But since we have pretty much more or less planned everything we could, there's little else for us to do with it. This leaves me my other works like The Crossroad and World of Monochrome, which for both, I sincerely apologize to you all that I've yet to update in a while...

...as you might have realized quickly, I may be disciplined in writing something with effort, but not necessarily focusing on it. I tend to jump from story idea to story idea.

So this time, I won't make any promises. World of Monochrome will still be on a short hiatus, and The Crossroad may be updated at random. And in particular, since the great and awesome is back, we may be also working on our joint Magical Girl stories that we haven't touched in all of 2 years! So any updates to these other works will be, as I said, on a whim depending on how much time I have and...how well I spend it...

...man do I sound like a jerk now.

But either way, I hope you can understand where I'm coming from as I make all of my stories ^^ And now, it's time to get what you've been waiting for, reading this whole journal...!

For the past week or two, I've been keeping the name of our NaNoWriMo novel a secret, merely releasing the 5 teasers you guys have seen and read. But I'm sure you've noticed that in each teaser, some words were colored out and capitalized. Assuming you've been observant and have been keeping them down, let's review the letters that have appeared...

...those letters are starting to look like they make some sense now, don't they?

Putting each letter in the order they appear, they spell out a certain phrase, and the title of our novel...

Embrace the Darkness (REDUX)

Synopsis: What started out as a Walfas Touhou fancomic series by Sethb1 is now going to be written as a, quite literally, dark action tale by both him and myself, Kigurou-Enkou...
On the 7th of July 2012, one Seth Bird wakes up from a nightmare. He won't tell anyone what it was about - not his teacher Reimu Hakurei; not Alyss Baraen, one of his best friends from Outside; and definitely not his friends from Team (9). That decision turns out to be a grave mistake, for that same day, his good and adorable friend Rumia comes up to him and politely asks that he take her ribbon off. What follows is the awakening of the dreaded Youkai of Darkness, the forceful and painful birth of a certain new youkai (who has very much lost his sanity in one fell swoop), and the beginning of a most troublesome incident in Gensokyo. It's up to the incident solvers of Gensokyo, and our unfortunate victim's own friends, to fight youkai and other monsters, both outer and inner, and do battle with humanity's greatest fear. What exactly has the enigmatic Rumia Yagami (also known as EX-Rumia) been planning? And can the others save Seth (and themselves) from...um...himself? And technically themselves too? There will be blood, gore, insanity, character revelations, and of course, lots and lots of DAAAARKNESSSS!

You'll probably like it if you liked...: Touhou Project, Persona 4, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, the original Embrace the Darkness comic series, The Crossroad (especially if you've been wondering just why Seth is so darn antagonistic towards Makoto's little team, despite being a nice guy to everyone else in the world...)

Author's Note: Holy carp on a piked pike, has this story been in development for a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time. If you check the folder for the original comic series done by Seth, you would know just how much he wanted to get this story down in some way...even if he was being rather lazy about it (*mumble grumble...*). It was sadly discontinued due to obvious circumstances, but since the beginning of this year, he's wanted to start over, and given how involved my characters were in the original, he begged me to co-write with him too xD Of course, I couldn't say no! As I stated above, once we agreed to this idea, we've been planning and outlining it like CRAZY. It's definitely gonna be much more well-written that the original, thanks to solidifying our ideas, but it's gonna be even MORE packed with scary/awesome moments, and we're gonna be busting the words out like...like...I don't know what metaphor to use, BUT YOU GET THE IDEA! Seeing as this is Seth's first time doing NaNoWriMo, we're aiming more for completion than a set amount of words. But either way, we're gonna be writing this tale. Like maniacs.
